Enjoy a half-day trip to explore the natural splendour of the countryside and the riparian life along Tonle Sap Lake, a UNESCO Biosphere Reverse and experience the unique traditional techniques used for stone carving, silver plated and lacquer work, etc.
Tonle Sap Lake
You will be picked up from your hotel then start exploring the natural splendour of the countryside. Stop nearby the school on the way to see the traditional stilt-houses and experience the daily activities with the local children and people (please do not give money to children but you are suggested to bring school stationaries for them). Afterwards, embark on a wooden boat and depart from Chong Kneas to discover the floating houses. Visit the freshwater exhibition centre where the local feed the animals as their pet and some for selling.
On the way back to the hotel, explore The Les Artisans d’Angkor, the vocational training centre and join the various art and craft workshops. Later, you will have a chance to learn about the traditional techniques used for wood sculpting, stone carving, silver plated, lacquer work, polychrome and stone patina work before returning to your hotel.
