Itinerary

Day 1: Saigon Arrival

Depart for Saigon. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Meal: In-flight Meals.
Accommodation: Hotel in Saigon.

Day 2: Saigon City Tour – Cu Chi Tunnels

In the morning, take a brief Saigon tour to Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and have fun shopping at Ben Thanh Market. In the afternoon, continue to Cu Chi Tunnels, a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers and booby traps used by both the Viet Minh and the Viet Cong during Vietnam-US war. The tunnel system had become legendary during the 1960s as a strategic military base and underground community life.

Day 3: Saigon Free Day

Enjoy a day at your leisure.

Optional Long Tan – Nui Dat – Australian DMZ Tour

Travel to Long Tan, Nui Dat and the DMZ Explore the remains of Australian war in Vietnam. Nui Dat is the place where Australian soldiers set up the base back in 1966. Visit the old Artillery’s rocks, bunkers, Kangaroo pad, SAS hill (Nui Dat hill), Luscombe airfield and the battalion’s memorial. Try to squeeze in the Long Phuoc tunnels, an underground tunnels system where Vietnamese soldiers and citizens used to live during the wartime. If you like, feel free to drop some flower at the Long Tan Cross memorial to show respect to the passed-away.

Day 4: Mekong Cruise: Saigon – My Tho – Cai Be

Today, you will meet in the welcome lounge in Saigon, enjoy a drink then travel 70 km to My Tho. On arrival, embark on a luxury cruise for a journey along the mighty Mekong River. The professional crew will warmly welcome you on board then guide you to check in your prepared state-room. A lunch buffet is served in the restaurant on board. In the afternoon, you can leisurely enjoy tea at your private balcony or at the open air bar while the cruise steadily glides upstream to reach Cai Be, a charming town well-known for its spiritual Catholic French Church and manufacturer of traditional crafts and food products. We drop anchor near Cai Be. Enjoy dinner on board and watch the selected classic movies.

Day 5: Mekong Cruise: Cai Be – Sa Dec – Tan Chau

Awake early and join a Tai Chi session on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise. This morning, you will take a Cai Be tour. Go on-shore to visit a workshop where you can learn how rice paste, rice paper, rice cookies, rice wine and coconut candies are manufactured. Continue to cruise through the lush and green canal network and observe farmers working on fields. Lunch is served on board. In the afternoon, upon arrival in Sa Dec, you will embark on a local boat and head towards Binh Thanh island to explore the native life and witness the manual process of mat making. Also, you will meet an elderly local couple who will share their exciting stories on life on this island. Back on board and take a dip in a pool on the sun deck and listen to a presentation of the expert guide on the “Life on the Mekong Delta” while the ship continues to Tan Chau, the border town to Cambodia. We will moor near Tan Chau.

Day 6: Mekong Cruise: Tan Chau – Phnom Penh (Cambodia)

After breakfast at the dining hall, you will go on-shore and take an excursion around Tan Chau by “xe loi”, a local vehicle used as a taxi in this region. Slowly cross the streets to see all the local houses and workshops before stopping at the colourful market for shopping. Afterwards, hop on a local boat to visit the floating fish farm and see how fish farming works. Back on board and cruise towards Phnom Penh. Spend your rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner is served before arriving in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia.

Day 7: Mekong Cruise - Phnom Penh City Tour

After breakfast, start a full sight-seeing tour by bus to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge regime before heading to Choeung Ek Killing Field to learn about the atrocities that took place here.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Accommodation: Overnight Cruise in Mekong.

Day 8: Mekong Cruise – Kampong Cham

Journey to the small Angkor Ban village on the Mekong River, famous for its beautiful traditional houses. Back on board and enjoy a presentation of traditional Khmer fashion before having lunch. Continue a visit to a local school (NGO project), an enchanting pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey and colourful monastery of Wat Nokor. Here we might get a chance to engage in a light banter with some of the monks living in the area. Back on board and relax.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Accommodation: Overnight Cruise in Mekong.

Day 9: Mekong Cruise – Kampong Chhnang

After breakfast, stop at the island of Koh Oknha Tey. Afterwards, reach Kampong Tralach and journey to the “Green School”. Observe the interesting and close-by life on shore and enjoy dinner. We sail downstream while enjoying breakfast, stop at the island of Koh Oknha Tey, famous for its high-class silk manufactures. We explore the island by tuk-tuk then listen to a presentation about “Geography of the Mekong and Tonle Sap” before lunch. After lunch, you will join a Monk’s blessing ceremony to pray for health and prosperity on board. The cruise continues towards Kampong Tralach, we drop anchor near Kampong Chhnang, allowing you to observe the interesting close-by life on shore.

Accommodation: Overnight Cruise in Mekong.

Day 10: Mekong Cruise – Tonle Sap Lake

Wake up early to witness the spectacular dawn and join a Tai Chi session on the sun deck. After breakfast, visit a nearby rural village and take a walking tour to observe the village specialities – Khmer style pottery and the making of palm sugar then explore the floating villages and the wetlands of the region. Back on board for lunch and continue towards the Great Tonle Lake, a UNESCO Biosphere Reverse.
In the afternoon, leisurely enjoy a high tea then join a farewell event.

Day 11: Mekong Cruise – Siem Reap

This morning, you will arrive in Siem Reap. Disembark and take a local boat to the shore. On arrival at the pier, you will be greeted by our tour guide and get transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 12: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples Complex

Spend a full day discovering the breathtaking Angkor Temples. Start your journey with a visit to Angkor Wat. In the afternoon, journey to Angkor Thom, home to the Elephant Terrace, Bayon Temple, Terrace of Leper King and Ta Prohm.

Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap.

Day 13: Siem Reap - Depart

Spend a day at your leisure and get ready for a flight back home.

Please note that customers must book at least 90 days prior to departure to ensure your desired travel date and time.

Deposit Information

  • A deposit of AUD199 per person upon booking to secure your travel date (non-refundable after 48 hours of booking for any reason).
  • Final Payment is due at least 60 days prior to departure. Once this payment is made, any prior payment is strictly non-refundable.
  • If the Final Payment is not completed by the due date, your booking will be cancelled and all prior payments are strictly non-refundable.
  • Invoices will be sent to you through Email, please take responsibility to ensure payments are made on time.

Tipping: Tipping is not mandatory. However, it’s appreciation and expectation. We suggest 5$/pax/day tipping.

Airline

  • Return economy airfare with Vietnam Airlines is supplied per voucher (including 1 x 30 kg checked baggage and 7 kg hand baggage per passenger).
  • Customers must send us the electrical copy of passport by scanning or taking the first page of your passport. By this way, we could secure the accuracy of your personal information to make proper reservation for you.
  • The airfare is non-refundable at all times.

Flights

  • Flight itineraries will be provided only 30 days prior to departure. If you book our tour packages within 30 days, your flight itinerary will be provided within 7 days.
  • Airline schedule may change or cancel before the itinerary and it is beyond our control. We will try utmost to assist our customers, however, the customers are also responsible for reviewing your flight schedule prior to the departure. Moreover, you can contact your Travel Insurance provider to check whether you are covered by your policy.
