The 14-day tour takes you to the heart of Indochina. You’ll visit the charming Hanoi, beautiful Luang Prabang & fascinating Siem Reap as capitals of Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia plus the magnificent Saigon. The tour connects you with all the World Heritage Sites of Halong Bay, Angkor Temples and lovely riverside town of Hoi An.  The trip is a right choice for those who want to see Indochina in depth.

Itinerary

Day 1: Australia – Danang – Hoi An.

Welcome to Danang, the third largest city in Vietnam. On arrival at Danang airport, you’ll be picked up by a guide and transferred to check in the hotel in Hoian.

Day 2: Hoi An.

Today is spent exploring the riverside town on foot, visiting its main attractions such as an old merchant’s home, the Japanese Covered Bridge and a local Chinese temple. Proceed to the Hoian Market where you’ll meet a chef for strolling around and learning about different ingredients that the local people purchase for their daily life. Round off your trip with a cooking class and sample your efforts then.

Day 3: Hoi An.

Take the day to explore the delights of this wonderful city at your own pace. Or, perhaps choose an optional tour from below to enhance your holiday.

Optional Golden Bridge Tour

Admire the astounding bridge lifted by two “hands of the Gods” in Ba Na Hill. From this amazing man-made wonders, you can enjoy the marvellous scenery of natures from above. Take this tour and walk among your fairy tales.

Optional Tra Que Vegetable Village Tour

Observe and try the local farming activities. Learn the process of planting vegetable such as raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables and many others. A light meal will be served during the tour.

Day 4: Hoi An- Danang – Flight to Hanoi.

After breakfast, farewell Hoian with a transfer to Danang airport for a morning flight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. On arrival at Noi Bai airport, pick up and transfer to your hotel for check in.

This afternoon, enjoy the city tour to visit the iconic sights including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside) & his house, One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of literature which was the first university of Vietnam.

This evening is free for your independent exploration or you can sign up an optional tour to enhance your holiday.

Optional Hanoi Street Food Tour

Enjoy a walk around the Old Quarter in the afternoon and have a taste of Northern Vietnamese delicacies such as stuffed pancake, Banh My, stuffed sticky rice balls, the unique egg coffee and many more.

Day 05: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise.

After breakfast, we leave the hotel for Lan Ha Bay & Halong Bay.

12:30: Arrive at the pier. The tender will take you to Calypso Cruise for boarding. You will receive a warm welcome by our Captain and his crew with drink and some refreshing towels. Our cruise manager/tourguide will give a brief introduction about Calypso Cruise and some instructions on safety regulations before lunch.

You have lunch while enjoying the beauty of the canals on our way to Halong Bay.

15:00: We arrive at Light and Dark Cave Area, where you can do kayaking or bamboo boat rowed by local people.

17:30: Return to Calypso Cruise, take a refreshing shower. Happy Hour will be offered while you can enjoy the sunset in this magnificent bay.

Take part in cooking demonstration by our chef to learn about Vietnamese cuisine.

19:00: A great dining experience awaits you.

20:30: Socialize with other guests, try your luck with squid fishing or just laze around. Singing and dancing activities are available till 22h00.

Day 06: Halong Bay – Hanoi

06:30: Wake up early to enjoy the dawn and start a new day with Tai Chi exercise on the top deck.

7:00 – 8:00: A light continental breakfast will be served while Calypso Cruise moves to Gia Luan wharf.

8:30: You take a bus route in 20 minutes to visit Army Hospital Cave in Cat Ba Island, an interesting place to save the history of significance of Vietnam during the resistance war against America. The cave consisted of a surgery room, eating room, meeting room, sport room, etc.  During the travel, you will be immersed in the natural scenery of the wild, fresh of Cat Ba Island.

10:00: Return the boat, check out your cabin then have lunch in the restaraunt while the cruise sails back to pier.

12:00: Disembark the boat and return to port.

14:30 – 15:00: Arrive at Hanoi. End of the trip

Day 07: Hanoi – Luang Prabang.

You are free time in the morning till we pick up and transfer to the airport for flight to Luang Prabang – the ancient capital of Laos.

On arrival, pick up by another local guide and transfer to hotel to check in. The rest of day is at your leisure.

Meal: Breakfast

Day 08: Luang Prabang.

In the morning, embark on a cruise along the Mekong River towards to the sacred caves of Pak Ou, which shelter hundreds of Buddha statuettes. Back to the town where you’ll enjoy the rest of day at leisure or you may sign up for an optional tour with us to enhance your holiday.

Optional tour of Baci ceremony

Baci (also spelt basi) is a specific ceremony in Laos which has been practised for hundreds of years. The term common only used is “sou-khuan” which means “spirit enhancing or spirit calling”. The ceremony involves the tying of white cotton strings around person’s wrists and the prayer saying or well-wishing for the person that the ceremony is intended for.

Day 09: Luang Prabang – Flight to Siem Reap.

Wake up as the sun rises, we will prepare to join the most sacred tradition of Laos, the daily morning alms giving, which dates to the 14th century. More than 200 Buddhist monks depart from various temple to gather their daily meal from the faithful residents sitting quietly on the streets.
From there, we will visit the temporary morning market near the former Royal Palace. Just set on the ground, the local people come here to barter their day’s catch from rice, to vegetable, to fish, or chicken. This is the best chance to experience the flavor of local life
After breakfast, we ascend to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a panoramic sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, you will visit Royal Palace Museum, which was built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family.
Your city tour continues with a visit to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong, a superb piece of Lao temple architecture, which presents a sweeping two-tiered roof and ornate mosaics including a beautiful ‘tree of life ‘glass montage on the rear temple wall.

Then, transfer to the airport for a flight to Siem Reap, the gateways into the Khmer Temples. On arrival, pick up & transfer to hotel to check in. The rest of day is at your leisure.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Angkor Temples.

Spend a full day discovering the mystical Angkor temples. The world heritage site with soaring towers and extraordinary bas reliefs. It is one of the most amazing man-made monuments in the world. Visit Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm Monastery, Angkor Thom, Bayon and the Elephant Terrace.

Day 11: Siem Reap – Flight to Saigon.

After breakfast, we will pick you up and transfer to the airport for the flight to Saigon.

On arrival, you will have a half day tour of Ho Chi Minh City with highlights such as, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and soaking up the atmosphere at Ben Thanh market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas.

Optional Dinner on Saigon River Cruise Tour

Dinner on Saigon river cruise offers an opportunity to witness another side of Saigon. Enjoy the river breeze gently caressing your skin, together with renowned Vietnamese delicacies which guarantee to make your evening unforgettable.

Today spend the day at leisure or choose to go on an optional tour

Day 13: Saigon – Depart to Australia.

This morning you will have some free time for any last-minute sightseeing or souvenir shopping before your transfer to the airport for your flight home to Australia.
