Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in & break. Later this afternoon, meet your tour leader for informal tour briefing which is followed by a welcome dinner at Ly Club, the fine dining authentic Vietnamese restaurant.

Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour

After breakfast, take morning Hanoi city tour to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. This afternoon, personalize your holiday with a choice of included sightseeing options.

Perhaps visit the 500 year–old village which is worldwide famous for its pottery or take part in a Hanoi Walking Tour for a deeper insight into the local lifestyles and your trip enhancement.

Dinner tonight is served with set menu at Wild Rice, a very nice local restaurant.

Option 1: Bat Trang Pottery Village
The Metropolitan is really impressive with the city’s iconic sights. However, there are lots to offer if you go out there to the vicinity. This half-day tour is designed to show the famous 550-year-old pottery village which is just 45-minute drive from downtown. Once in the village, you’ll
Walk along the narrow alleys to explore village life. Start your discovery from the old communal house where the village founders are worshipped followed by different home factories that use techniques hundreds of years old. Then, you’ll have a chance to hand on for a deeper insight before strolling in the local market to find luck. This is a holiday enhancement which shouldn’t be missed.

Option 2: Hanoi Walking Tour
Join a guided walking tour around the downtown of Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. To get us started we will board a coach for the short drive to the historical Hoa Lo Prison, infamously known as the Hanoi Hilton. From here we walk to Joseph’s Cathedral on our way to Hanoi’s centrepiece, Hoan Kiem Lake, stopping for refreshments along the way before continuing on to the picturesque Ngoc Son Temple. From here we will stroll along the lakeshore to the Statue of Ly Thai To who is credited for founding Hanoi in 1010. To finish, we will visit the stunningly beautiful Hanoi Opera House before returning to the hotel. Lots of selfie chances, local interaction provided along the way and this is the truly amazing activity that will leave you with lifelong memories.

Day 3: Hanoi – Duong Lam Village

Following breakfast, drive to the ancient village of Duong Lam. Recognized as a national relic, it has a history of about 1,200 years with many houses dating back 40 years. On arrival, visit one of the oldest houses in the village, the home of the Huyen family, who have lived here for generations. Then, choose to explore this charming village and the tranquil countryside on foot or by bicycle. Visit the restored Phung Hung Temple and Mia Pagoda before enjoying lunch at the house of a local family. Back in Hanoi later this afternoon to take a rest for a while before being ready for another exiting chapter of the day.
This evening, enjoy Hanoi Street Food Tour. Start with a walk around the Old Quarter when the lights pop up and have a taste of Northern Vietnamese delicacies such as stuffed pancake, banh my, stuffed sticky rice balls, the unique egg coffee and many more. The special activity offers lots of interaction with the city dwellers and an insight into the local lifestyles.

Day 4: Hanoi - Halong Bay

Today you will travel by coach through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta to Halong Bay. Recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1994, Halong Bay’s spectacular scatter of islands, dotted with wind- and wave-eroded grottoes, is a vision of ethereal beauty. Upon arrival, you will board your ship to visit the thousands of limestone islands filled with caves of all shapes and sizes. The sails of junks and sampans gliding along the clear and emerald waters of the bay form a magnificent scene that blends into the sky. You will also have the opportunity to visit some of the hidden grottoes beneath the towering cliffs.
Enjoy sunset cocktail to unwind followed by a delicious fresh seafood dinner. Stay overnight onboard the luxury cruise.

Day 5: Halong Bay - Flight to Hoi An

Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands, a sight not to be missed! Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea, before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong Bay. Enjoy a light lunch before heading back to shore. Your driver will then meet you at the Halong jetty for your drive straight to Hanoi airport to catch up the internal flight to Da Nang. On arrival there, you’ll be met and transferred by another local guide to Hoi An to check in hotel. Free time afterwards.

Day 6: Hoi An Free Day

Today is an easy day for you to spend the way you want. Perhaps, you just relax by the beach/swimming pool or sign up one of the following included tours to enhance your holiday.

Dinner tonight is served onboard Cinnamon Cruises on the romantic Thu Bon River.

My Son Sanctuary
Depart from your hotel and journey 40km outside of Hoi An. Arrive in My Son Sanctuary, a great sample of ancient Champa civilization situated in southern region of Vietnam. Stand astounded by a great number of exquisite stone sculptures, temples and towers nestled in the tropical jungle. Around late morning, we will return to Hoi An.

Hoi An Cooking Class
Start your Hoi An cooking class with a special signature welcome drink. Stroll throughout the local market where you’ll learn more about the ingredients that the local people prepare their daily meals. Then, in class, put your hand in and cook your own dish. You will take the theory and do a demonstration for the first two courses. Then you cook by yourself under the chef’s observation. You will then have time to sample your efforts.

Tra Que Vegetable Village
Tra Que is a charming petite village located just a few kilometres from Hoi An. The village is named after the sweet scented vegetables Hoianeses grow in the village, which are used to spice up famous Hoianese delicacies. Depart from your hotel either by private car or bicycle. Stroll through the atmospheric Tra Que Vegetable Village to observe and try the local farming activities. Learn the process of planting vegetable: raking the ground, sowing, watering and picking vegetables. After the farm trip, you will see how good Vietnamese is with ‘Banh Xeo’ (sizzling cake). This Vietnamese savoury pancake is popular and favoured throughout Vietnam. Finish with a visit to the local market. A light meal will be served during the tour time.

Day 7: Hoi An Walking Tour - Flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

This morning, you will visit Hoi An’s highlights including the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple and Phung Hung Ancient House. In the afternoon, get transferred to Da Nang airport to catch the flight to Saigon. On arrival, pick up & transfer to check in hotel.

Day 8: Saigon - Long Tan Tour

After breakfast, travel by bus to visit the place that served as the Australian Military Base during the Vietnam War, explore the Long Phuoc Tunnels, a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers and booby traps used by the Viet Cong during the war as their hideout. Then, attend a memorial service at Long Tan Cross. The tour includes a local lunch on the way.
This evening we’ll have dinner at a local restaurant with matching wine menu designed by celebrity chef Luke Nguyen.

Day 9: Saigon - Mekong Delta Cruise Tour

Start your Mekong Delta exploring to Ben Tre Province to embark on board cruise on Ben Tre river (one of the tributaries of Mekong river, sight-seeing lively activities along the river as fishing, water transferring). Stop at brickwork to see how to make bricks in handy traditional style by printing and baking. Next, visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along the canal. Turn on natural scissors creeks where they look smaller and smaller to go to the village and take a walk to family workshop making sleep mats and enjoying some fruits and tea. Continue taking a motor cart (xe lôi) or cycle riding under tree shades, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life and find out about the tropical culture from Peasants. Lunch is served at the restaurant riverside. Afternoon, you take rowing-boat along water palm creek and boat back to Hung Vuong Pier, where your transport is waiting back to Saigon.
Farewell dinner tonight is served onboard Saigon River Cruise which offers an opportunity to witness another side of Saigon. The city is not only a bustling metropolis but also a romantic land.

Day 10: Saigon City Tour - Depart

Following breakfast, late check- out of the hotel and you will have a half day tour of Ho Chi Minh City with highlights such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Remnant Museum and soaking up the atmosphere at Ben Thanh Market, one of Ho Chi Minh’s liveliest areas. Have Pho for your lunch today in Saigon. Have lunch at a local restaurant followed by free time until transfer to airport for flight home.
