Itinerary

Day 01 Beijing Arrival

Fly to Beijing, the capital city of China, via a connecting city. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel.

Day 02: Beijing

Today is a leisure day to see Beijing at your own pace. Get to know the city by drinking in the stunning sights and treating yourself to some delicious local fare!

Alternatively, you can join our suggested optional excursions.

Day 03: Beijing

Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall (Juyongguan Section), one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Recognized by UNESCO, and get a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700 mile marvel. Visit one of the largest Jade Exhibitions in Asia enroute. Later in the day, it is your option to join our suggested excursions.

Day 04: Beijing – Wuxi

Chinese Traditional Medicine is thought to be over 2000 years old, it is very common throughout China and is used in most households. This morning you’ll visit a Chinese Herbal Institute to discover and participate in learning this ancient way of healing. Afterward you’ll enjoy some free time in a Beijing’s veteran shopping mall where you can find a broad choice of local and world famous brands. Alternatively, you can join our optional tour to Temple of Heaven and step back in time to discover the history of the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. This afternoon you’ll board the bullet train and travel to Wuxi. Upon your arrival, our local representative will meet and greet you at the Wuxi Railway Station and transfer you to the hotel for rest.

Day 05: Wuxi – Suzhou

This morning, you’ll begin your day with a visit to the Brilliance of Lake Lihu, located at the famous Lake Taihu, followed by a visit to one of China’s largest freshwater pearl exhibitions before travelling by coach to Suzhou. The beauty of this gorgeous city has long served as inspiration for generations of Chinese poets and writers. Suzhou has earned itself the nickname of ‘Garden City’ thanks to its myriad classical gardens, including the famous Lingering Garden – a stop on today’s itinerary.

Day 06: Suzhou – Hangzhou

Learn about one of the world’s most luxurious textiles – silk – and how it is produced and created at a working silk-spinning mill. Then travel to Hangzhou by coach. Marco Polo was one of Hangzhou’s most famous fans; he named this city as one of the most beautiful he’d seen in the world. Your time in Hangzhou begins with a boat ride on West Lake, from which you’ll be able to see some of the city’s best-known historical and cultural sites.

Day 07: Hangzhou– Shanghai

There is a tea-tasting experience on the agenda this morning and once you have sipped and swilled your cup of green tea, venture to Shanghai via coach. This energetic city is one of the commercial centres of China and upon arrival there is a walk along the Bund, a mile-long stretch that hugs a length of the Huangpu River. This stroll is one of the best ways to admire Shanghai’s mix of colonial architecture, European influences and modern design. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 08: Shanghai

This morning, you’ll visit the Shanghai Museum that escorts you through the craft of millennia and the pages of Chinese history. The rest of today will be at leisure, or you may explore this buzzling city further and join one of our well-designed optional tour programs.

A transfer takes you to the airport at the appropriate time for you to board your flight home

Please note that customers must book at least 90 days prior to departure to ensure your desired travel date and time.

How to extend your stay
Some customers like to enhance their holiday by extending their stay before/behind and/or post-tour. $200 per person is applied for trip extension or early arrivals.

If you wish to do so, please follow these steps:

  1. Follow the “Book Now” prompts, until you reach the “Special Requests” field
  2. Here, please specify your preferred flight arrangements and if you require additional accommodation, with the number of nights needed.
  3. After finalising your purchase and submitting your booking form, a member of our Reservation team will be in contact with you via email to verify your request.

The additional cost for these land arrangements will be added to your final payment invoice, due 90 days prior to departure, and is strictly subject to availability.

Important Information

Tipping
Gratuities (tips) are included in the tour price for services of the tour guides and drivers throughout the tour. However we recommend to tip some extra for the guide and driver’s excellent service.

As this particular tour does not collect a ‘kitty’, it is entirely up to the individual whether or not you would like to tip locals for the services of things like taxis or when dining at restaurants. In these cases, we suggest you allow 10-20% of the value of the service as a tip. Again, it is not compulsory and entirely up to the individual.

Accommodation
The accommodation listed is subject to change. Any changes will be of an equal or higher standard. Bedding configurations (double or twin) are requests only. All efforts will be made to meet your preferences however any changes are beyond our control.

Visa & Passport information
It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return and must have more than 2 blank pages.

The website of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Australia has detailed information on the eligibility of Australians for various visa types. For foreigners already travelling or residing in China, all visa queries should be directed to the Foreigners Entry and Exit Administration Section of the local Public Security Bureau (PSB).

Fingerprint scanning of foreign nationals (aged between 14 to 70 years) on arrival, commenced in 2017.

Tour Documentation
Final documentation, including e-tickets and hotel details, will be provided approximately 30 days prior to travel.

Children must be 2 years old or over and share a room with parents at all times. Children are the same price as adults.

Tour Length
The total length of the tour in days includes time spent in flight and is subject to change depending on the flight schedule, please refer to the day by day itinerary for the time spent on land.

Physical condition
A very good level of fitness and mobility is required for you to enjoy all aspects of the itinerary, as this is considered a fast-paced tour. While there is some free time scheduled either in the morning or afternoon, there are many full days of sightseeing with minimal rest and some early starts. You will be required to walk up and down stairs, get on and off the coach and participate in all scheduled sightseeing that may be conducted on uneven ground and terrain. Any physical ailments you may have must be disclosed at the time of booking to determine your suitability. If you have any form of walking aids, other than a walking stick or hiking poles, then this tour is not suitable.

Itinerary
The itinerary provided serve as a guide only and may be subject to change without notice. Itinerary may be altered for reasons including, but not limited to, weather conditions, social unrest, poor road conditions or generally to ensure the safe passage of customers. Itinerary may also be changed due to local circumstances or events. Changes may or may not be communicated prior to departure. We will not be liable for any costs resulting from a change in itinerary due to factors beyond its control. Further, customers are not entitled to a refund for itinerary alterations resulting from factors beyond our control.

 

Asia Vacation Group shall not deliver a refund for any delay or change in program or expenses incurred or injury and damage due to airlines, accident, breakdown of transport and sickness.

In some cases, your chosen extra tours may be canceled by Asia Vacation Group due to force majeure you may choose to change to other alternative tour OR receive a coupon equal to the amount you paid for it. The difference in cost of the alternative tour will be paid by you or transferred to a coupon as applicable. This coupon is issued after the tour and is valid for two years. It is valid for any tour by Asia Vacation Group and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Airfare Information

  • Airline: Cathay Airlines, China Airlines or similar (20kg for checked baggage per passenger and 7kg hand luggage per passenger, 01-piece check-in baggage each person only
  • Some flights will require a minimum of 1 transit (maximum 2).
  • All tickets will include 20 kilos checked baggage per person, along with 7 kilos of hand luggage.
  • Despite the airlines baggage allowance, we recommend travelling with 20 kilos per person due to restrictions with internal flights (where applicable), as well as coach and train transportation. Also, you will be responsible for handling your luggage at all times as the services of porters is not included. If travelling over this amount, you will be liable for any excess baggage fees enforced by the airline, payable direct.
  • Once ticketed, flights are non-refundable. Any changes will be subject to the airline rules and change fees.
  • Full names as per passport (including all middle names) are required.
  • Any airline schedule changes or cancellations are beyond our control.
  • Any airline ‘extras’ such as pre-allocated seating is at your own arrangement (additional charges apply)

Premium Economy or Business Class upgrades 

  • Business Class upgrade available from an additional $3,000 per person (subject to availability).
  • Please specify this as a “Special Request” when completing your booking and you will be quoted for the additional fare. In the event your selection is unavailable, or that you are dissatisfied with the quote, you will be provided with a full refund.
